Christian Thinking as Pilgrimage
Huntington County, IN, USA
Huntington University is hosting a CCCU regional faith integration conference on Thursday, May 21, 2026.
The conference will feature Doug and Rhonda Jacobsen (co-directors, Religion in the Academy Project). Their book, Christianity & Intellectual Inquiry, published last year by Oxford University Press, offers a Christian intellectual model centered on the concept of pilgrimage, echoing themes of Arthur Holmes, Mark Noll, George Marsden, and Richard Hughes.
Presenters at the conference will include:

Karen Lee (provost, Wheaton College)
Alison Noble (provost, Fresno Pacific University)
Kim Fenstermacher (dean of Nursing, Palm Beach Atlantic University)
Kent Eilers (professor of Theology, Huntington University)
Jeffrey Tabone (assistant professor of Honors Humanity, Indiana Wesleyan University).
A discussion guide for the Jacobsen's book, developed by Todd Ream (executive director of faculty scholarship, Indiana Wesleyan University), will be distributed.
The individual cost for the day is $125, including lunch and a copy of the Jacobsens' book. If a school sends five or more participants, the cost is $100 per participant.

The Lilly Network National Conference

The Lilly Network of Church-related Colleges and Universities holds its annual National Conference each fall on one of the Network’s member campuses. Representatives from the Network colleges and universities meet to consider a significant issue of faith and learning, exchange ideas and practices regarding their mission, and foster the whole range of Network programs and activities.
Registration for the 2026 National Conference will begin in the spring of 2026.

Faculty, Deans, and Provosts are invited to attend a FREE 90-minute interactive workshop to consider academic faith integration from the pedagogical perspective of the Bible's wisdom literature.
This interactive faculty development opportunity will be facilitated by Paul Kaak, PhD, Senior Consultant/Lead Trainer for TheoMetrics, an organization that focuses on equipping faith-based CHE institutions to build robust systems of academic faith integration.

2026 CCCU NetVUE Pre-Conference Session
The CCCU will be hosting a pre-conference session titled "Everyday Christian Teaching" focused on the integration of faith and learning at the 2026 Council of Independent Colleges (CIC)'s Network for Vocation in Undergraduate Education NetVUE Conference from 8 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. on March 19, 2026. Breakfast and lunch will be included.
Dr. David I. Smith, Professor and Director of the Kuyers Institute for Christian Teaching and Learning at Calvin University will be facilitating the pre-conference gathering.
