Center for Faith & Learning
Empowering educators and inspiring students to reflect on and develop the connections of their faith with their learning, vocation, and lifelong journey of discipleship.
What Do We Mean by Faith Integration?
Faith integration is the intentional development of the way that one’s Christian faith and values weaves into all dimensions of life, including education, vocation, and interpersonal relationships.
Faith integration explores the application of biblical and theological principles to our understanding of the world and our daily choices and behaviors.
Within academic and professional settings, faith integration typically involves intentional reflection on the interplay of insights drawn from both secular knowledge and the Christian faith tradition.

Why is Faith Integration Important?
Faith integration is foundational to the mission of Christian higher education. When faith and learning are fully integrated, institutions faithfully live out the purpose for which they were created.
Biblically Rooted
Faith integration is rooted in biblical and theological mandates, such as loving God with all one’s heart, soul, mind and strength (Mark 12:30), and doing everything for the glory of God (I Corinthians 10:31)
Missionally Aligned
Faith integration is foundational to the mission of Christian higher education. Many would say that if faith integration is not achieved in Christian institutions, the mission of that institution has not been achieved
Life Changing
Faith integration through discipleship transforms individuals and communities, leading to a lifelong commitment to Christian learning and service

“Thoughtful integration of faith and learning lies at the very heart of Christian higher education.”
President David Hoag, Ph.D.
